About Us

Diamond Junior School is a values-based co-educational institution that is committed to Empowering and Inspiring children to achieve their full God-given potential.

Our History

We officially opened our doors for the first time on 7th January 2009 in Diamond Park Estate 1 and with a warm embrace,we welcomed 2 children in our institution. We experienced tremendous growth within the first 2 years of opening forcing us to go in search of bigger facilities.
In August 2011, we packed up and moved to our new & more spacious facility in Executive Housing Estate. In 2015, through inspiration from our parents and our students' great progress, our Vision grew bigger & we took on the challenge to open doors to our Junior School section introducing our very first class 1(one) .

Our Academic Year

Our Academic year begins in January – December.

Each term runs for 3 months, with the exception of third term where schools close by Mid- November.

First term  – January  – March

Second term   – May – July

Third term   – September – November

Our House System

We have a House System at DJS which fosters friendly, healthy competition and challenges students to take responsibility & care for each other during the Inter House competitions that are held through out the year.

The House names were chosen after Birds of Prey because of the positive characteristics which they possess, that we would like to reflect upon our young boys & girls. The traits include – Strength, Confidence, Relentlessness, and Focus.

We have four houses & every child is allocated to one of the Houses when they enroll at the school.

The Houses are;

Falcons -      PURPLE

Eagles  -       YELLOW

Hawks -        BLUE

Red-kites –   RED

After the Inter-House competitions are held in various activities through out the year, winning teams are chosen and rewarded.

Rewards are given in order to;

  • Inspire & motivate
  • Raise self-esteem
  • Recognise achievement, progress or effort
  • Model values of the school
  • Encourage team building
  • Publicly celebrate achievement, progress & effort with parents and our wider community
